So, Sophie has this determinism that astounds me. Once she decides she wants something, she will do whatever she has to do to get to it. Her frequent target is our laptop. Once she sees it, she wants to push all the buttons. It doesn't matter if we keep moving it, she will crawl, climb, and dive to get to it, and she doesn't choose the path of least resistance either. If it is on the other side of Justin, she doesn't go around him; she will climb over him to get to it.
I've often wondered where she gets this single-minded determinism--until last week. Justin has been talking for a while about getting a blu-ray player. I always told him they are too expensive, and we will get one when the discs and the players are more reasonably priced. Well, last week we got an add from the boulevard advertising a blu-ray player for $129.00. That was the end of the battle for me. No matter how many reasons I came up with, he had a counter reason. The long and short of it is that he got a $200.00 bonus from work, and now we have a blu-ray player...
I often shake my head when I think of the far distant day when Sophie is married, and I realize her husband doesn't stand a chance!
