Sophie's First Bath

About a week ago Sophie finally lost her chord, so we were able to give her a bath! She loved the water!

Our Anniversary!

Today is our anniversary! I have loved every minute of being married to my very best friend. He is so sweet and kind, and I can't imagine my life without him. This has been an eventful year for us with buying a house and having a baby! We couldn't be happier, simply couldn't be happier! These are some pictures from our wedding day!

Someone always has to wear my grandfather's purple jump suit to the weddings in my family. For our wedding, it was Will's turn!

My dad and me dancing.
Justin and his mom.
Our cake fell over when we cut it. Believe me, that started the cameras flashing!

More Sophie Pictures...Again!

I know my blog kind of has a one-track message these days, but I just love to take pictures of our precious new baby. Here are some of my new favorites!

Justin did her hair this morning!
Justin is such an amazing daddy. He loves his little Sophie Poop!

I zoomed in on this picture while he was holding her. He didn't know I was in the room. It's one of my very favorite pictures!

Baby Sophie Pictures!

Well, last time I posted I didn't think the baby was ever going to come out, and the next day she did! It has been an amazing experience, and painful I might add. I always knew having a baby would be painful, but I didn't quite know about all the after pains... I love being a new mom, and I love my beautiful Baby Sophie!

She's Here!!!

Justin here, posting for the first time ever (on behalf of Ashley who has just delivered our new baby girl).
Saturday, 7:00am Ashley's water officially was declared broken. (Us waiting to be admitted)

Say hello to your new diet for the next 12 hours, baby.We took a strenuous walk through two halls to help those contractions along.

4:28pm, little Sophie was born. See that smile on Ashley's face? Give her an applause. Ashley (the mighty warrior woman) went without an epidural. Yes, that's right. She's a natural!
Mom and the baby. Sophie came out 6 lbs and 6 ounces, 18 inches tall, or long, or short. (she's small). Sorry Ashley, no more built in heater anymore. She's the cutest baby in the world. No biases, statistically all of the nurses thought so.
We put her in her first infant clothes. The clothes were tailored for infants 5-8 lbs. I think they were wrong (observe the pant legs). She was born with all this hair. Ashley's going to town putting bows in it.
Fully dressed and ready to sneak the back way out of the hospital (nurses are very attentive to the mother and the baby's every move, so we had to be quick).
Home at last. If it looks like the whole experience left us worn out... well, you get the picture.

Why Even Guess?

So, I am going crazy waiting for a baby to come! My original due date said the 11th, but the due date was changed to the 4th because that is what the ultrasound said, and I think she's never going to come! I think it would be better if the doctor just said that she would come some time in the month of December. Broad, I know, but much easier to deal with. I am officially over-due according to the doctor's chart, and now I can sympathize with all those other terribly uncomfortable and cranky, over-due women!
Meanwhile, I'm trying to get through the rest of school. I luckily got almost everything done early! I am so excited to be done with my degree...I definitely will not miss going to class.

Who will Baby Sophie look the most like?

I've been wondering what our baby will look like. These are the pictures of Justin and me when we were born.

A Bitter Sweet Day

Saturday was the last day of Zion Drug. We are merging with the new Walgreens in Hurricane. Zion drug was established in 1961, and it has been a standard for other pharmacies ever since. After 6 years of working for Zion Drug, I am aprehensive about the changes to come, but hopefully all will be well. The following pictures are of the employees cleaning up and preparing for the big move. I have been blessed to have fabulous co-workers and a wonderful boss, and I hope that will not change.
